Long day..long week, but it's over and finished with quite a successful visit by Santa and Mrs. Claus. He was wonderful read the kids stories before having 'the chat'.
It seems baking is what is happening today. That and putting up the Christmas trees (yes treeS). Plus getting packages ready to mail to the UK so they have a hope of arriving before Christmas.
For those who don't know I'm the library director for a VERY small rural library. My predecessor (C) was, apparently, good at grand gestures and little else. Just got a call from a 92 year old lady wanting to donate her fiction books. No problem, but C told her she would have a room named after her for her sizable donation. [cont'd]
If I had a penny for every time a patron came in to use a computer and then complain and insist the computer isn't working when they haven't even turned it on (despite me telling them how to turn it on), I'd have a lot of pennies.
the bookcases the hubs has made down in the basement. I can now put my books out after nearly 6 years of being in storage. Terry Pratchett's autobiography had the honour of being first to go on the shelf.
Well that was a pointless if peaceful day at work. 3 patrons in 5 hours of being open all within a 10-minute period. Got other stuff done at least. Now if the internet here would just be anything other than a snails crawl I'd be happy.
Back home now. Faeriecon was fun, although having $$ would have made it a lot funner! Hoping next year to talk hubs into staying longer and going to the masquerade ball. I'll post photos on my DW. Also, Bohemian Rhapsody is awesome!!
