Day 2 post-op: I survived surgery. Pain was not controlled in recovery room. I think we’ve finally got it worked out closer to my home schedule. Anyway, doing my exercises. Walking in the hall. I think PT maybe discharged me since I did so well yesterday. But, damn, it really fucking hurts. The muscles where the incision is hurts, obviously.
Big hugs. It is a huge surgery. Your body is gonna be grumpy af for a while. Take as much pain meds as you need and chase with senna-s . So sorry they didn't keep you comfortable at the hospital.
I think maybe home tomorrow. And, by home I mean maybe the hotel across the street. Home is a four hour drive. On the other hand, I am really ready to be home !!!!
Oh dear. Well glad the schedule is better. And hotel across the street sounds like a VERY good plan. A nurse I worked with accompanied her sister on a hip replacement done overseas for the cost savings. Did not factor in post-op plane flights of 10 hours getting home. No bueno.
Getting my hip replaced changed my life for the better in a big way. The first few days are rough. The first few weeks are hard. After about 6 weeks I felt completely new. You got this! Ice 20 minutes every hour you are awake.
