I saw someone started a thread about favorite works from this class. Just curious, does anyone have a favorite movement?

does anyone else think it's significant that Robert is the only character named in Cathedral? As opposed to his wife, her officer, etc.

Here's a link to Foucault's This is Not a Pipe. Not suprisingly, he was a big fan of Nietzsche. :-) foucault.info/documents/...

I can't remember which, but in one thread we talked about IM vs. The Jungle. I definitely saw similarities in their endings- thoughts?

does anyone in our class speak Chinese? Or at least, I think it's Chinese. I keep seeing these posts in my time-line and I'm quite confused.

To any new Hemingway fans, I would definitely recommend The Old Man and the Sea. It's one of my favorites, and epitomizes that terse style.

I enjoyed the opening of Snows of Kilimanjaro. It reminded me a bit of Hills Like White Elephants, having to puzzle out what's happening.
