Last Sunday, a rally for supporting Hong Kong was hold in Taipei Taiwan.
Mini Meaty and I went to the rally together.

I think that there must be a noble spirit, a persistence ,or a believe to make so many people stay in a pouring rain only for walking.
Walking under a pouring rain is pretty tiring and sounds stupid ,but the freedom of speech is the most important thing that the democracy protects. I really don’t want to loose it, no matter in Taiwan or in Hong Kong.

I love that people are being active to keep their freedom (also I love Mini Meaty's rainbow wear, can you tell it that?)
We will continue to pray and support everyone's health and safety during this hard time

lumienarchanayuki: I told it, and it was so happy that it shook its tail intensively!
Some terrible things happened in Hong Kong really broke my heart.

plurkenjoy: Aww, I would love to see Meaty shake its tail intensively! Must be so adorable!
Oh, it truly broke my heart to read the news about Hong Kong. Things that happened in my country recently weren't much better either. I truly hope things end well soon.

lumienarchanayuki: Oh I know that, and I also saw the discussion on Plurk. Honestly, a party in Taiwan wants to have a referendum which is to change the law to only allow women have an abortion within 8 weeks(it was 24 week in our law).
Freedom ,human rights and democracy are really global issues, thorny issues.

plurkenjoy: Oh, my, the party is very unwise. I can't imagine a worst turnout if it wasn't making abortion illegal, just like in several states in the USA. So many bad laws people want to implement.

lumienarchanayuki: Yes, basically this proposal(?) is based on the "heartbeat bill" which is a part of the history in USA.

plurkenjoy: Really? It is? That's crazy. I bet there are many men who are supporting this.

lumienarchanayuki: The proposer is a man, and he is also a leader of a religion(and the party of course) which advocates that the church should lead the state.
ohh, and a lot of women too I guess.
It's true that Taiwan is deeply impacted by America in many aspects given historical reasons.

plurkenjoy: No surprises here. I mean, even women are repressive toward female rape survivors and don't believe in pro-choice. Sometimes I get super worried about American influence. It happens in Indonesia, too.

ugh, should we even be surprised every time a man propose abortion bill (headspin)

windaw: Actually, I wonder if there is a bill proposed by women...I think there is...
After all, the idea of "protecting lives" always wins a lot of votes for the proposer.

lumienarchanayuki: In Indonesia, do younger people tend to support pro-choice more than elder people?
No matter what, I would pray for a good result for Indonesia, and the referendum in Taiwan won't be passed.

plurkenjoy: I don't know the real demographic, it really depends on where we live and our environment. Even though one is young, but if they are extremely religious by default, they will be a pro-lifer. We even have anti-vaxx here and the movers are mostly young mothers. It's bizarre.

plurkenjoy: i believe there is/was. especially if one is religious because that is sadly what's happening in indonesia

lumienarchanayuki: I see. As far as I know, Religion is really important in Indonesia and impacts people's life. In Taiwan, there is no such influential religion. I think that's why the proposer did such thing-- for getting attention and influence.

windaw: So yes they are baffling.
Freyja 金 says

plurkenjoy: You are right. Most people in Indonesia put religion before everything although they themselves might not fully understand why, they like just to "keep their faith" blindly to put simply. Doing that kind of thing for attention and influence is rotten. I hope the proposal will not pass.

Thank you! I also hope the law in Indonesia can be abolished.
