y'all I know ChatGPT is controversial and I have my own strong anti feelings about some aspects but I have a work subscription to the latest model and the code writing is... /chefs kiss
coding is not my main job and I would not be able to get another person to do this for me so it's literally just saving me hours of effort
I think that's closer to automation versus generative, if that makes sense.
sort of -- it's definitely generating the code by itself, but it's in the function of automating some previously very painful manual work. I can see the distinction, though.
a lot of what we're trying to use it for is along those lines, though not entirely
