in canon it is specifically a form of nature magic that has been twisted
there is no "good" blood magic but i have always assumed that is because there is no way to extract large amounts of blood from a living person without harming them

i say "good" because the worldbuilding has really tried to get away from labelling things as specifically good or evil but there is no canon instance of blood magic used for anything positive lmao

i think they were looking at it as some other dark magic acting on the blood to corrupt the blood into something you can use as a weapon

versus simply extracting the energy that exists in it naturally and that act is itself corruptive
