They were so lengthy though that I often forgot where I was. I think it helped to read the poem again without them, knowing what they said.

I really enjoyed the footnotes as well. I thought it added more depth to the poem, but perhaps a bit too much.

Although they were overwhelming at times, the footnotes were extremely useful in the overall understanding of the poem
