that it is much harder to read from a big encyclopedia-like anthology rather than a small-booky novel. I have no idea why though, lol.
latest #11
for me it's a comfort thing; maybe size too. Even a 2 pager can feel interminable because of the size of the book.
Oh, I definitely agree. It's way more intimidating for me to try and read from Norton b/c it's harder to feel like you've made progress
I used to have this problem. I have a little trick that I use to help make it seem less overwhelming...
...just take two bookmarks and put them at the beginning and the end of the text your reading. It sort of creates the illusion...
...that you're reading a much smaller text. It works for me, maybe it will work for you.
For me its just physically cumbersome. I like to read in bed, and you can't exactly snuggle up with the Norton.
haha well you could! but i wouldnt want to..
At least they finally got wise and split the anthology into bookS. My undergrad copy for this class was all in one and was hardback.
Talk about uncomy to curl up with - not to mention **heavy**.
today in my Rhetoric class we talked about structure of written language, and its appearance. The way that a lot of the catalogs are...
written in the Norton Anthologies (and in general) helps to achieve an overpowering feeling.
