Something else I want to question, why is bounce music so vulgar in relation to body parts? Depicting, things like sexual acts or other forms? Or is that just the way that bounce music is conveyed as a different form of music?
One question I do have though, that someone can pitch in on, is why is bounce music not unique to other places? As in, why is it so unknown to people who may visit New Orleans?
Someone in the vimeo video made a point about even if you can’t dance, it’ll make you do something, that its just that kind of music. I agree, the beats and the combination of the sound, along with the artist, all make up the specific bounce song and beat.
The bounce music culture is something unique to New Orleans, and it is an experience for people who come to visit, being exposed to music like this.
The bounce artist “Hot Sizzle” made a point about how bounce music makes you want to dance and move your feet. I think that when the catchy beat is what welcomes the music, along with the dancing.
People use pop culture in different ways as well, not only social media. So, I wonder if Adorno’s theory is constrcted to look at every aspect of pop culture, or only social media, aside from what the article stated. Also, this theory helps to want to engage and be a part of the engagement of social media alone.
Adorno’s Theory is one that can have many sides and viewpoints from both the positive and negative, as does other theories within anything. However, society has always been diverse and different, in the sense that, no one thinks the same way. While they may come to the same conclusion, it is not always the same route that was taken.
Reading criticisms of Adorno’s theory, it seems that people would argue, and have their own different views, affecting how people want to use social media individually.
Also, that he wanted people to engage with the media, and participate in it. I think that this has opened many different viewpoints, from many different perspectives, from many different people.
Adorno believed that pop culture is used by the elites to control society, and I think that it is true, in the sense of influencing and channeling their views to others.
