feeling emotional! It’s been a year but the pain is still the same.
Merrt Christmas Plurkworld!
Bathroom amenities: Fairmont uses Le Labo Rose, Ascott Makati uses L'Occitane, and Discovery Suites Manila uses a generic line. Best robe and best towel also goes to Fairmont. Best bed meanwhile goes to Ascott and best pillow goes to Discovery Suites.
Hubby's assessment: He adores the service and overall quality of our stays at Fairmont Makati. It's still his favorite hotel in Manila so far (especially the Gold Lounge).
Speaking of hotel renovation, I like the changes that Ascott did to their rooms and the color scheme update too. The only thing I don't like would be the tacky bathroom counter and the basic bath tub. Best bath tub that I have tried so far would be the one inside the one-bedroom suite of Fairmont Makati.
I don't mean to be really picky/choosy but I'm glad I got the rooms cheaper than it's regular price. There was no way that I would pay 16,000/night for the condition of the room we stayed at. Php8000 + taxes and fees is quite reasonable though for the 2-bedroom suite.
Con't 3/3: I also had to call to request for chopping board, the knives were dull, there was no kitchen scissors. I feel like the one-bedroom suite where we stayed last year was better equipped than the 2-bedroom suite we stayed this time. It looked like it was not renovated at all. Oh and yes, the bathrobes were thin.
Con't 2/3 There was a construction nearby and I heard construction sounds all day, our view was a building being constructed, I had to call housekeeping because there was no bubble bath in the bathroom, towels were not enough for 4 guests, there was only one face towel in the main guest room, the lighting qas orange and there was no way to make it brighter.
I'll just write my thoughts here so I will remember when I write a full-on review. Pros: they posted a welcome banner, had sweet treats to welcome me as well as fruits, the tub was gorgeous. Cons: the pipes took a wee bit more time to drain (it was probably clogged) 1/3
We stayed at the Discovery Suites in Ortigas and I was a bit underwhelmed. I loved our stay at the Ascott Makati better.
