I also learned that Cash Money records early released tracks were Bounce Genre music which they referred to as Gansta Bounce, emand even had artists that weren’t familiar with the genre at the time. Jubilee also being the DJ to make “twerk” a trend back in the 90s in music is also something that I didn’t know.

I like learning that the origin of bounce music is from different artists, Triggerman, Dj Cameron Paul and his Brown beats from a James Brown Sample; that these are the main instrumentals to majority of bounce songs and it continued to grow from there. Although there are bounce rappers/singers in New Orleans, the beat can also be applied to remix songs.

It’s also interesting that we have our own dance to these beats that people can dance to at parties, in clubs, at get togethers and compete against each other. All the dance moves are unique and can be displayed in different ways which gives the genre even more range in my opinion.

From watching That B.E.A.T it’s beyond interesting knowing that bounce music is our genre and doesn’t have much exposure, even when people visit and hear the music it’s like something they never heard before. It’s good to know that this is our own twist to music that is also unique.

I like how it is mentioned that popular media cultures are marked by instability and change. This instability and change is able to be represented through the media, news, television, music, etc.

It was also interesting learning how these creatures that people dress up for on Halloween explicitly which can trick the super ego into getting them into a bedroom. ( I never thought of it this way) Also how in horror fiction games how someone will respond from fear or anxiety & how they will react.

The actual origin of Halloween and how we perceive modern Halloween is very interesting to learn about. Surprisingly the origin of Halloween isn’t really taught other than it being a pagan holiday, and is seen as a day for kids to knock on doors to get candy and dress up for a day which seems harmless.

The article also explained how society tried to paint a victim persona of Rihanna. It also explains how a women of power can be rendered weak or powerless through the act of violence from a man. When it explained how regular situations of violence aren’t displayed in the media as it is for someone that is famous which is hard to even think about.

They also use the Chris Brown and Rihanna situation to compare black love and complexities of desires like a “Cinderella/prince charming complex” and how these gender roles give a distorted lense to people that are navigating relationships. I think this explains how society looked up to this couple and was later disappointed by the outcome.

In the article Victim, Risqúe, Provocateur.. It is interesting to learn how it describes the domestic violence situation between Chris Brown and Rihanna as Rihanna being forced into this spokes person against violence and people from the media making assumptions and speaking for her.
