The Chinese government is structurally problematic in many ways, and it's just a matter of time before it breaks down. The only thing that's keeping it intact is force that unfortunately is concentrated in just one man.

Are the strings of chaos there now the beginning of the end of China as we know it?

According to a survey commissioned by the Youth Leadership for Democracy, 75 percent of 15-30 year-olds surveyed in March 2021 "were satisfied with the way democracy works in the country, higher than the 55 percent who said so in the 1996 survey."

Many PH youths will remain tolerant of authoritarian and inept regimes.

The Marcos administration's anti-drug campaign will focus on demand reduction and drug user rehabilitation, instead of the killing of drug users, according to DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos.

Slowly but surely, Duterte's programs are being dismantled by Marcos. Whether Duterte's allies can do anything about this is uncertain.

De la Rosa on why he is proposing to decriminalize the use of illegal drugs: "In order to decongest itong mga kulungan, sabi natin, i-decriminalize na lang ‘yan dahil ‘yun namang mga rehabilitation centers natin ay hindi napupuno."

Right proposal. Wrong reason.

"A Caloocan City court handed down the second criminal conviction on police officers involved in former President Rodrigo Duterte’s bloody drug war after they were found guilty of torturing two teenagers and planting evidence against them five years ago."

Duterte's war on drugs was ran by criminals.

"The policeman who was arrested last week in an operation that led to the confiscation of almost a ton of suspected 'shabu' worth P6.7 billion—one of the largest hauls in the history of drug enforcement—had been cited by the Philippine National Police as best antidrug police officer."
