Went to city hall and got a batch of documents that I need for my PR application. 🙂

I drove to Sendai to visit the Immigration Office there and submit my permanent residency application. I have to get a fair bit of additional documentation (records of tax payments, etc). Will send those by mail.

I sold a bunch of model kits and PVC figures to the local Book-Off! shop. One of the figures got me ¥8800. 😁

I saw some big flashes of lightning ⚡️ on the way home last night along with significant rainfall. Not as bad as the time when we had some flooding and a railway bridge washout though. 😅

Manager of the cafe where I had lunch today told a story about an interesting incident on the weekend. She was working in the cafe's foodtruck when she was approached by two policemen who asked to talk to her helper, a university student. Apparently he had a passing resemblance to a wanted suspect in a notorious fatal hit and run traffic accident. 😳

I do not enjoy the humidity here in Tokyo 🥵.
I am happy to be in an air conditioned coffee shop. 😊
...And yet I'm drinking hot coffee 🤪

Cleaned myself up in the bath house in the basement of the hotel, wandered to Akihabara station, and am now sitting in a Beck's coffee shop in Ueno station waiting on my 8:13 train. 🚆

"enjoying" jet lag. It's 4:25 am and I'm more or less wide awake. 😬

Got my mom going on Zoom so she can watch the Steveston Buddhist Temple's Obon service. 😊
