wife reminds me that since her grandparents used to visit here, too, now it's 5 generations of her family have come to Oglebay... Her parents would often come here for dances when they were dating. Back in the late 30s/early 40s this was apparently a regular stop for the touring "big bands"

eight adults, three toddlers (one human, two canine) , and a cabin in the woods- such pandemonium!

Cooper the spaniel got to see his first deer this morning, started big - there were SEVENTEEN of them in the field just behind the cabin ( gotta love Oglebay). He stopped, stared tail up straight, one front up ( classic pose). The deer watched at us with cautious interest. Off season, pandemic year, they probably haven't seen many people lately.

looking forward to this weekend, going to have all 3 kids, the sons' wives, and grandson together for wife's 65th birthday. First time all of us together for over a year. We're at one of our favorite places; Oglebay Park near Wheeling, WV. We're pre-isolated and most of us are covid immunized, so safe...

got my vaccine appointment for tomorrow! caught me by surprise. Via county registration a few weeks ago, age 65+ and pre-existing conditions. Pennsylvania. Pre register everywhere you can! Driving 20 mi to high school of county seat for vaccination site.

I proudly raised the flag at home today at noon. Thankful that part of the national nightmare is over.
