reading the optimism and constructive criticism of Washington's writings more than the mostly pessimistic musings of DuBois.

the fact that Washington's interpretation of race relations during his time are still extremely relevant in modern days.

"Maggie" is hard to follow sometimes, but appreciates Crane's extensive detail and descriptions in his story.

And, was Mrs.P extremely selfish and aloof, or was she looking out for her kids' by preventing them from having a numb, careless mother?

that the conclusion of "Awakening" was confusing. Is it that Mrs.P would not give her life for her kids, only for herself & her soul?

the imagery and descriptions in "Awakening". Especially when Edna Pontellier is describing the seductive sea on pg. 544.

that the ending to "Daisy" was a little anti-climatic. I feel Daisy's death caused more mystery and confusion to surround her character.

it is hard to understand the character of Daisy Miller. Is she extremely naive and ignorant, or is she incredibly intelligent?
