Today on "things the bitty surprised us by happily eating": Taco meat!

[kiddo] Well, here we go getting her into video games!

More proof that babies are cats...
Bitty has already had a couple of instances today where there's food (of a type we would eat and which would be new for her) and this sequence has happened...

Thanks to an interesting substitution by an Instacart shopper, I have now tried whiskey-flavored cheese. Bet you can't guess what state I live in.
(PS: I don't think I like whiskey-flavored cheese.)

Classic 4 year old...
Kiddo: I want to go outside after dinner! (proceeds to raise a big stink about wanting to do this)
Also kiddo, outside after dinner: ...What can we do out here?

So, bitty got a toy for Christmas that's a plush ball with a device inside that makes various animal-themed sound/music effects when it gets hit in some way (dropped, kicked, etc.)

This may have been a mistake, because now she keeps trying to slam every new toy down on something as though she expects the same thing to happen.

Further life of kiddo...

Today on life with kiddo:
Kiddo: (out of nowhere) I don't want a dog, actually. (She's asked for one before on occasion.)
Me: Oh? Why is that?
K: I don't want something that will have fleas on it.
M: Well, there are medications you can put on a dog to make sure it doesn't get fleas.
K: Oh. beat Can I have a dog?
