Grrr laptop ac charger is dead or the laptop can’t hold a charge for some reason. In my way to pick up a charger to see which it is.

Oh no. Hopefully it is just the charger.
My laptop battery can't hold its charge either. So I always keep the charger. Still allows me to use it (almost) anywhere, as long as there is an outlet. (There is no point to have the battery replaced; it would cost more than the value of the laptop. I may buy a new one, or maybe I'll just tolerate it till it gives up.)
The charger is apparently bad. I picked up the universal One and it seems ok but I don’t think it’s quite strong enough. Enough to charge and let me do what I need. And then everything was really messed up so I did a complete windows reinstall!! Ugh
