Mikey is dying. He has cancer.

He seemed his usual self this morning but this evening he was lethargic and not respondin to us the way he usually does. Mom and Dad are with him at the only clinic they could get to take them at 5 in the evening on a Friday.

Mom called me needing reassurance that she wasn't giving up: she was making a positive choice to spare him suffering.

Of course I told her that she's doing her best and making the best possible choice for him - surgery on a metasasized cancer is not a reasonable palliative. She's acting in his interests.

Oh jeez no. I'm so sorry.

I didn't say goodbye. I should have. I just. I don't know, I got overwhelmed and distracted and I was hoping it would be ok.

I'm sure he knew that you loved him very much
