These are very simple hand sewn running stitch on knit fabric salvaged from a swag tee shirt. Hand sewn running stitch has enough give that it can be used on a fairly stable knit like a close tee shirt jersey.

This is information I have learned from Natalie Chanin, a fashion designer who likes to work in handwork knit fabric and talks a lot abt the process and geometry of hand sewing!
