So... I've been playing around with an idea for a new character. Basically it's going to be a person stuck running a shop that hops dimensions (or maybe just the door) and they can't leave the premises.
Granted, I have no idea how I would actually play them in a game... but it could be interesting to fool around with in museboxes/private rps/memes/etc...
doctoransem: Not entirely sure yet. I was sort of thinking about playing them as a continual character. So that everything they do sort of turns into a single storyline. They and the shop are always going to be internally consistent.
So lets say they buy... um, a bottle of healing potion from one world, they can sell it to someone else that will never meet that other character. With the shop jumping universes/dimensions/etc I can bs them meeting multiple versions of someone, so there will be lots of room for shenanigans.
Basically a door shows up that leads to an inter-dimensional pawn shop, kind of thing. I figure I can abuse that premise to have it pop up darn near anywhere and in many settings...
Idk, kind of blocking out ideas. Like... the door can appear anywhere, but the shopkeeper can't leave and the customer can only return to where and when they came from.
So no actual world hopping by the visitors, (unless something gets changed in future) but if there is some thread hopping going on, characters from different worlds can trade items/interact while they're in the shop.
They start with a nearly empty shop an have to rely on whoever comes in to get supplies, and more importantly, to make friends. Being stuck alone in a small shop isn't exactly great fun. They need to buy/sell things and make friends in order to upgrade the shop.
