FF is... kinda spoilers? I mean RS is too but his canon is so old that's not a problem. her manga is also old now, but her anime just came out like last year? anyway, the least spoilery explanation is she was once a colony of plankton and now she's a person! in Ryslig specifically she's a camelcorn.

RS in Ryslig is a harpy, with fuckoff huge wings. he's also had a lot of character growth! he no longer (at least not actively, usually) wants to destroy the world and torment all of humanity for eternity! he also organizes a human-npcs cult of Fog-worshippers who want to become monsters

sometimes he runs Monster World sessions (knock-off D&D)

Foo currently isn't doing a lot. She lives in Merain with her canonmate friends, and commutes to Bavan to work at the Insert Coin arcade and volunteer at the Community Center with Pure Vanilla Cookie.

Cid is a new addition to my roster! in canon, he's an OP isekai protag, except he's convinced that his adventures are only an elaborate larp he's created. it turns out the cult he thought he invented? real, actually causing problems. his shenanigans? actually foiling plots. Cid? never figures that part out.

as far as Cid's concerned, he's killing bandits - and possibly mercenaries?? (it's hard to tell what he's thinking sometimes, even in the light novels where he narrates) - and assorted hapless bystanders while playing pretend but with real stakes.

his canon's a dark comedy, though it can be hard to realize this at first about the anime, because it has a very dry delivery - but so far it's my favorite rendition of the story.

in Beautiful Dreamer, the cult really is just imaginary - AND he hasn't actually been killing people, so AU-Cid is already worlds ahead of his canon self - and also his pre-isekai self has been reshaped into a beloved elder brother instead, a simple split that gives him a higher empathy stat purely by virtue of now he's invested in someone not-himself.

a second season was recently announced too, which I am excited for

edited slightly because I remembered that manga-RS is just different enough from anime-RS that I should specify... and Cid's personality stays pretty consistent across mediums, but his setting does change... and also the story, to a lesser extent, though as I'm playing him as a full-AU it's not vital to specify... but I could, and it makes him match RS, so

updated the header again, as I'm back in but with Jade - she's more my speed than Cid.

I still need to watch the Eminence in Shadow season 2 tho... I might not be able to rp him, but Cid remains a fun character, and the season's out now...

and I have idled out of with Jade - alas, I just couldn't stick with it u_u
