First off, I'm on the dock, which means I'm guaranteed to be actively misgendered at least once, generally more per day

Second, I still don't have access to all the things I need to do the dock, despite two weeks of bitching at the boss about it

On top of that, let me tell y'all a story

So, our entire conveyer system went down at around 12:30

This meant that we had no ability to move any work from one section to another, so we couldn't do shit

Bosses start VTOing people, but I'm dock, so I gotta take care of the last delivery run for the day and the paper truck

Paper truck arrives; everybody with forklift privileges is gone, so I get to unload a 53-foot trailer full of pallets of paper weighing literally a ton each.

THis takes an hour, so it's now 2 pm. I'm about to go find my boss, tell her everything's done, get me off the clock, when I get a call on the radio

The other facility in our building asks if we need any extra totes. We always do, so I spend the next hour hauling tote pallets back from 30 dock doors down.

Having gone the extra mile, I go seeking VTO with the sense of a job well done.

Except they've gotten part of the belt half-assed up so we can run some things, and the boss's boss says no more VTO

So my reward for doing the extra thing is to get shafted
