Okay, but what if the biblioesoterica has the title on the cover?

Also, I don't think plurker tags work when embedded in pasted text, so CajsaLilliehook

Is this what you're looking for? I painted out the author and title.

Oops, had to fix that, the title was in the blurb.

CajsaLilliehook: I don't see anything but I have no intention of asking people to hide something. I reckon you spotted a title we both have. That's basically the game: joint recognition of familiar little known titles, so much the better if we have them in our libraries.

More_Opie: I recognize a number of your books, but I own none of them (though there are a few that I should own). Is the target volume An Exaltation of Larks? I am familiar with that!
Moire Opie
🤗 That's the game! With a little bit of adjustment. First, that target EoL is only in the centre so that I can get the books to the right of it as well. Secondly, if you recognise a lot of the books, then how do we know that they are legitimately esoteric? We will have to see what others say. If everybody knows any of the books then it doesn't winn

I immediately recognized Crossing Open Ground as Barry Lopez is a favorite writer.

So, I will reprise this section of my shelf for the open ground and perhaps others will find other common ground

Oh, OMNI magazine? I loved that, too. I you liked the magazine's visual style then you will love that book. Just don't expect too much out of the documentation. They didn't try very hard lol

Cajsa's books are more esoteric to me. Her shelf could be called "Odd man out": Eragon wins!

One of mine has a special distinction of having turned out to be a complete fraud. "The Long Walk" by Slawomir Rawicz. There are documentaries and books about him, a movie, and then it turned out his story was a fraud.

I did not know it was a fraud when I read it so I cried far too much.

There used to be several people on my timeline who coveted the Codex Seraphinianus.

PollyPaperclip: whoa! what a find! not that I'm going to pay $60 to have it shipped from the US when it might be available much more cheaply here. but the funny thing is is lucci with such an inspiration that I spent about a 3 months trying to figure out how to drive an analogous style for myself. so I kind of got him in my brain anyway.
