that 2020 is turning into the year where all the long drawn out personal decisions and plans made at the end of last year were pretty much a waste of time and effort😏.
it's rather the reverse in my case since my long-drawn out plans for a fuller retirement, including replacing me with another regular teacher and door duty personnel, have been implemented (albeit very briefly thus far before everyone got locked down anyway).
no comment on the relocation, trust me we are as frustrated as anyone on that. Late November/early December we start applications etc for following years events. Was trying for some new ones this year but was having to arrange over David being out in Austria for a couple of weeks and daughter wanting to meet up as was down in Plymouth for a friends wedding.
To be honest we’re now assuming none of the shows will occur in 2020 and even those that were cancelled and had attempted to reschedule in the last quarter will now have to give up.
It’ll be interesting to see who comes out the other side of this on the arts and craft circuit. Small matters compared to the enormity of the current situation but I doubt that the already faltering industry will recover.
it's quite the reverse and the small home-grown arts and crafts people have fewer overheads than normal industry and retail and might be better able to simply start up again.
Hmm, think you might be thinking of a slightly different business model to the people who use these events as outlets. We can expand on online sales but for a lot of the makers we know they depend on their exposure to the right clients at large scale events. With the falling away of trade fairs and galleries closing they have very limited possibilities.
