Swerved to miss a deer today on the way to change my Dad's fixation device on his back. I almost never leave the house, I do one day and I land in a ditch. Luckily, I don't think too much was damaged. And, luckily I have rental insurance
I tensed up terribly when it happened and now I am pretty sore. I will take pretty sore any day though. It could have been so much worse, I was feet away from slamming into a rock wall

GingoGumbo: Absolutely! I hit a deer 3 years ago when my car was pretty new, it did almost 9000 dollars worth of damage. I was going 70 mph on the interstate and that thing came out of nowhere! It was horrid! I was in pain for a week
I don't think the deer even knew what hit it. I was just glad it didn't suffer. I hate when they suffer 
I dodge suicidal deer about 4 months a year on my commute. It's one thing I won't miss when I retire
