i must've lucked out - got it downloaded yesterday, fast and no problems. For some reason decided to toss installer in my Dropbox for my other installs. Never done that before - now glad I did!

The mirror is nice... but is there one for the Linux version? Will try again in several hours, I expect.

Also, has there been any consideration of distribution via bittorrent, thus making the problem its own solution in a way?

OK, got both the 64-bit OpenSim & SL and the 32-bit Havok versions. I sat down to look at a few people with Bento hands. No performance issues, thankfully. Even on a laptop with an Nvidia GT840M.
