had to get 10 stitches on my arm last night after an incident involving pitas, a knife, and the usual helping of alcohol

i wasn't really intending or planning to hurt myself but while waiting for my pitas in the microwave (a time span of 10 seconds) i had one hand up on the handle ready to open it when it dinged

and a knife in my other hand for opening the pita pockets and in that time frame seeing the knife next to my out stretched arm my drunk mind went 'haha wonder if its sharp'

so i just whacked my arm willy nilly, and as it turns out it was indeed sharp and an immediate regret

holy shit i'm so glad you're okay

yeah it was really dumb

i told them i wasn't actually planning to harm myself and it was legit just a split second thing like a thought shot across my mind and i didn't think it through all the way

which is the truth

i still ain't proud of it but it was very alarming

not to get too graphic or worrisome but i remember i saw like the fat below my skin, and a vein that i just barely missed. i remember when they were stitching it i was asking 'whats that in there'
