so if I picked up a soft-linked set of objects which were named 'foo', 'bar', and 'baz', if I'm trying to find baz later, is there a way to get SL to search for the names of objects softlinked?

i don't believe there's any way to search for objects IN a coalesced object. it will name itself the last selected, so if you name that something that helps? or make a box and name that all things and grab last
yeah, I'm thinking so too. somewhere in my inventory MAY be a dust bunny Christmas tree, along with a raft of ornaments (including some lovely Schadenfreude ones!), but I can't seem to find them.

yeah, sadly it only helps if you think about it first. i've taken to putting things in labeled folders for that sort of thing
