Damn straight. If you don't think it's right? Then don't get an abortion. Don't try to tell people as a whole what they get to do with their reproductive organs. Ain't nobody infringing on you.
I have never needed their services, but I believe in a person's right to them, male OR female
Yeah, I have no idea whether an abortion is right FOR ME. Luckily, I've never been in a position to have to make that decision. But if someone thinks it's right for them? That's their choice. Or should be.
Thing is, we need to stop talking about Planned Parenthood in the same breath as abortions. That is the LEAST of the services they offer and the pro-lifers have unfortunately succeeded in making the two almost
synonymous, which is so very wrong
Abortion is a right. Everyone should have access to health services. Even reproductive health, and even women. Keep your religion out of healthcare, and out of other people's life.
Separation of church and state should not be only for non-Christians. I never needed Planned Parenthood, and I live in a place where it's not really needed. Still, I stand with them.
Ereh, as pointed out upthread, reducing the PP persecution to a pro/anti abortion issue may not be the best way to go. The point that it is all part of a larger RW war to control women and to starve government
services under the guise of "religious" beliefs needs to be highlighted.
Things like, one city got rid of their PP center and the cases of hiv skyrocketed.
Oh, and even if PP is more than abortions, I think it's time to tell the religious right that they have no right to tell women what to do with their bodies. Once PP is gone, they'll attack other "abortionists"
any way they can, until there is no way for a woman to get a safe abortion, despite Wade vs Roe. So, it's a good thing to fight for PP, as well as for providing safe abortions.
Yeah abortions aside, like I've never had one, but I've had a lot of complications where Planned Parenthood helped me deal with a lot of pains I was having and other secret vaginal things. It's a must have.
It's really nice to have a clinic who understands women, when I got on the pill to regulate my hormones, not even for sex, my male doctor lectured me about how he was a virgin til 27. PP wouldn't do that shit.
I was unable to get access to certain types of contraception at my gyn because they were affiliated with a religious organization, but were a care provider for my insurance.
See, Planned Parenthood isn't all about Abortion, which is what the GOP wants you to believe. Abortion accounts for a very small percentage of the services provided.
It also provides low cost services to men.
Yes the majority of what PP does is provide women's health services, abortion is a small portion. I stand with them too!
At the same time, I for one don't want to shy away from saying "Yes they do perform abortions too, and that's a damn good thing."
I don't want to in any way let the religious right get away with manipulating yet another political conversation so that I have to...
...apologize for a perfectly valid position. Safe legal abortion is a necessity and a right, and it needs to stay in PP and everywhere.
Yep it's a right and I think women should have a choice.
