In a box of old paperwork, I've found an artifact of a story I've also told to at least some of you:

But for those who either haven't heard or don't recall, New Voices is (I assume it's still going on) WPI's yearly festival of community-produced plays.

Anyway, the first play on the second page, "The Origin of the Species", was hilarilously terrible...

...and then we found out, by way of the confessional email he had to broadcast to the campus, that the playwright had plagiarized the story...

...from half of the plot of "The Further Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix".

(The character "Judas Collins", who takes the nonsense name "Diabolical" at the end, is the Mister Sinister figure; "Strife" is faux Apocalypse.)

The story gets better because the email broadcast happened late at night after NV ended, and the list to send it out was not immediately disabled, leading to and end-of-year reply-all flame war.

Those were also both good flame wars, although the first of those was before even my time.
