they might have had Liège waffles with the yummy pearl sugar carmelized on top as well.

actually kinda sad about this. It was like opening my eyes to a wider and happier world, the different varieties of waffles across Belgium.

Are they hard to make at home?

doesn't actually know but doesn't really have room for a waffle iron...

They probably wouldn't be as special if they were easier to obtain.
