well, the laptops were not in the fort at the time. We were planning to bring th in but had not yet done so.

and yes, she was displaying some less-than-adequate thinking skills. She first jumped on a box that was supporting a corner of the fort.

That was fine. If she had stayed there, it wouldn't have been a problem. The problem occurred when she decided to walk --not jump, but walk

Into the unsupported middle of the ceiling blanket. I saw it happening and couldn't stop her quickly enough.

She put one paw out, put weight on it, clearly recognized it was supporting her weight. But instead of pulling back, she just kept walking.

Put the ends of the blanket under the chair feet, then weight the folded over part with books. (I use barstools to make mine) :-)
