(Not because I fixed it, however. If I didn't already need a new laptop, which I did because of memory issues, I definitely need one now.

The wireless network adapter is simply not working. The Update probably didn't cause the problem, I just had many problems at the same

time. Anyway, THANKFULLY, we happened to have an external USB wireless network adapter just sitting around, so for now I am using it (after

much difficulty downloading the drivers to make it work) and can at least connect to the network for printer use and to get online. WHEW!

LOL! Translation: The part of the laptop that connects to a network is broken. But I have an external piece (plugs in to a USB port) that

does the same thing. After MUCH (complicated) hassle last night and this morning, I finally got it working.

(Assumption: You live with Barry and are not completely computer illiterate and therefore know what "network" and "USB port" mean.) hehe
