As for rankings, total bullshit.

They hardly mean anything. CalTech's a great school, but it's ridiculous to say that it has now become fancier that Harvard or Princeton.

I can write three pages about this, but this is not the place. Conclusion: don't take it seriously.

Generally, it's practically impossible to compare schools like that. They're all good.

No brick-shitting. If I were shitting bricks, I'd be saying Harvard sucks. But my point is actually that most people will consider Harvard

the fanciest school out there despite what the rankings say. And as for actual quality, it's nearly impossible to compare.

I read an article one where the author conjectured something like this: they make less fancy school take high positions in the rankings to

make the rankings more interesting. I'm not saying that's right, but it's just one more guy saying rankings are meaningless.
