had none for ages, but hasn't even tried the last several years.
Some neighborhoods are better than others for luring trick-or-treaters. At one apt in AZ, we never had any.
This neighborhood used to get lots! But it's changed a lot.
And kids go trick-or-treating in "safe" places instead, at school or malls or other stuff instead of ooooo, weird neighbors.
Are you a weird neighbour?
People don't take chances anymore.
People don't get to know neighbors anymore either, not here.
I'm just as guilty. I know some of my neighbors, but not nearly half of them. And I don't even know the names of the people on one side.
But yeah, it's weird how compartmentalized our lives can be. We can go all day without initiating human contact,
yet be right next to other people the entire time. People in the neighboring house, everyone in cars around you, etc.
no idea who her neighbours are, outside of the other two families in this house.
Our neighbors introduced themselves to us, which is a good thing seeing as how we tend to be recluses sometimes.
I'm glad they did, though.
I'll be at my parents' rental house, the one my sisters live in, tonight. It's a FANTASTIC neighborhood for trick or treating.
Mine gets lots of visitors from outside the neighborhood.
And no, didn't get one single trick-or-treater tonight.
I did my trick ages ago (when we flew the Airman). I've had lots of treats from you, so I can't justifiably ring yurr doorbell.

We never get trick or treaters
The people at work were just discussing that - everybody who had candy ready got no visitors; the one who didn't, got kids at her door.
Awww.
As I looked around outside on Saturday, I was thinking that we need more holidays that call for roaming the streets and greeting people.
I guess parents are too terrified to let their kids walk down roads anymore.
My mom is a retired teacher. We get LOADS of kids.
