collecting mushrooms is much more common in Germany than in the Netherlands. But this year seems to be a good one indeed.

its Steinpolz Peter, and yes, I see many good mushrooms here on the way and no one picks them up, its Holland! In Germany thats impossible

that these Steinpilze get untouched. They have much less sense for the benefits of nature here

I see people starring at me in disbelive that I collect stuff like mushrooms and chestnuts in nature

we don't really get taught what's edible and what's not and there are too many lookalikes.

chestnuts are just pretty. Well, the non-edible ones. The edible ones not so much.

the edible ones (Edelkastanie) are those I found here so much

we meade glazed chestnuts to go with the deer goulash the other day, it was delicious

I Berlin I see hardly the edible chestnuts, but here its just the other way around

we ususally make deer goulash with red cabbage and chestnuts
