it's less about avoiding incidental bumps and bruises and more about avoiding digging too greedily or too deeply

humans are way too fragile, they die from falling like, what, twenty feet? pffffffffffff

call the dwarves when you accidentally open up a chasm to hell itself and flood your city with lava

this is how the UAC got away with so much bullshit in Doom; by working with infernal energy they got to write themselves off as a dwarven manufacturer

And he mentions elves vs dwarves as arches

Specifically that elves are generally depicted as a bit less physically strong than humans or dwarves

Their natural dexterity would leave them potentially very accurate but they might have trouble using really heavy bows, and favor rapid fire attacks from lighter bows

as opposed to a physically stronger and sturdier races like dwarves who could pull back a much heavier bow

And suggested that dwarven archers would be more like snipers specialized at firing slowly with high damage shots

Which is

VERY much not how the bow works in this game

you're just machine gunning arrows with poor accuracy and low damage

And personally I would have preferred that style of archery

bring 8 arrows instead of 80 but each arrow is a dead orc
