but I was thinking about the various samurai types I've seen in Valor games
Kaito and Grainne mainly came to mind
And I know Sven has plans
And I was just idly thinking about what I'd do if I wanted to revisit the character archetype
And this thought popped into my head
"A skilled swordsman can read his opponent simply by feeling their killing intent"
"A master swordsman can block an attack entirely with his aura"
"If your will to strike is weaker than his, your attack has no chance of success"
"But an attack with no killing instinct at all?"
"To strike without aggression or thought or awareness"
"Against such an attack, there could be no defense"
no thoughts head empty style
a sword is simply a piece of sharpened metal
vaguely pinging memories of a fight in assassination classroom
consider: there is no such thing as a sword
'I have suplex intent. I don't care whether you live or die but by GOD you will get wrestled.'
"Ultimate attack: Strike without intent"
I'm doin' my swordguy concept next one piece game,
somebody gotta do a one piece game tho
If I get into another OP game then I've gotta do a DF user
But I've yet to come up with one that feels protagonist-y enough
steal my echo fruit idea--
there's a character in Thunderbolt Fantasy who has this sort of vibe
I can't say more without spoiler risk, but it was a cool reveal moment
or rather the "killing intent but no sword"
