Merry crimes to you as well!
happy merry! Hope you're getting to relax today!
I think so! Just have to help with potatoes and make cider
mmmm. tri-tip just came out of the oven and David is finishing up his mashed potatoes
Daniella is making Brussel sprouts and we have fresh boudin san francisco sourdough ♡♡♡
and I made some mulled cider <:
I was a little disappointed in it tho. the juice i bought as a base is much more tart than I would have expected honeycrisp cold pressed juice to be, but ah well. it is still yummy. and I left out the star anise cause I didn't want to buy $15 bottle of it for just one.
there is a boudin in the airport so if they have some I'm grabbing another loaf on our way home xD
I ad a bit of brown sugar or honey if the juice is tarter than expected
oooh, NICE. Boudin's is my favorite. I love going to the main store by fisherman's wharf and watching the whole process, but any boudin's is a good boudin's
David's fam leans more towards less sweet anyways tho so I think that worked out for them.
we have a couple in Sac now, which is VERY happy making
oh man, yeah. some day Imma get that alligator
Em bought the turtle one year
oooh! that's so nice! yeah their bread is delicious
just so everyone knows what I'm talking about xD
ther
there's a really big one too XD
yesss! I saw that one near the pier a few years ago
I would totally buy it as a table centerpiece if I could afford to XD. Serve soup or stew, let everyone hack bits of alligator off for dipping
I like that they have a years bread subscription too, my mil got us that one year and it was great.
I didn't realize they did
Yeah! You can get fancy ones or just the regular bread shipped to you at what ever rate you want. It's nice <:
I would so do that for the kids if I could afford to XD
I feel that dude. We had to stop getting it delivered cause UPS decided we needed to sign for everything so if we weren't home they wouldn't leave it. Had several loaves mold that way which was such a bummer
oh that
sucks
Yeah, It was like we missed it by 20 minutes and that just meant no delicious bread that month.
Maybe if we did it again I'd get it delivered to my parents house instead. They don't have to sign for everything there thankfully.
yeah, that would def be better
I managed to fit all of my books and 2 puzzles in my suitcase...I think I can get the rest of my clothes too.
I may or may not have bought 7 books, 2 puzzles and an umbrella
the second puzzle was a free gift at the museum tho
This means if I see anything tomorrow I have room in my backpack
I think my SIL is taking me to the Vuori store to get me something for christmas.
huh, never heard of Vuori. Cool!
huh, never heard of Vuori. Cool!
and yay for books and puzzles
They are a performance athletics brand? My SIL is a coach for Santa Clara university and is like VERY into athletics stuff. She usually gets David and I like one piece from there every year. Expensive but very nice work out clothes.
I usually wouldn't buy it myself since it's rather bougie but that's what she wants to get me so I'm not complaining about it
If you ever get the chance to step into one of their stores, they have this fabric they developed called dreamknit and it's so fucking soft and buttery.
But it's also breathable and performance fabric.
and yeah, athletes can be very opinionated on their workout wear, Hannah's like that from years of rowing and marathon running XD
but there's also a reason for it when they're wearing it that hard
Yeah, I feel it. I get such good recommendations for stuff though, I appreciate it. I got some really nice work out shoes on her recommendation.
what does she coach? That's very cool (Hannah desperately wanted to be a college rowing coach before her college coach broke her so badly she had to give up rowing for years, and is still mildly disabled)
She's the assistant coach, trying to find a position in the area as a head coach
nice! Hope she does asap!
Yeah! She's great and is very committed, just needs to get more networking in really. Higher ed can be like that sometimes, so. Fingers crossed for her!
oh yeah, it sure can... and, unfortunately, can require you to move all over the country for jobs >.<
she was interviewing for a job in seattle and we told her not to when she sent us the package she'd get with it.
She'd be making barely anything and be forced to live in a very expensive area
there are a lot of colleges and universities in the bay area, though, so I wish her all the luck
Yeah! there definitely are. I think she likes where she's at too currently, just would like more money, higher position.
unfortunately only D1 men's football and basketball coaches rake in the huge bucks (and by unfortunately I mean they absolutely should not, it's ludicrous >.<)
Yeah, womens sports are definitely underpaid.
Did you know the highest paid government position in washington state is the UW college football head coach?
....it's been a few hours since we ate and all I want is more of David's mashed potatoes
Yeeeep, sure did. Hannah has complained extensively about how corrupt the NCAA and the schools that profit off it are, and it's only changed slightly since they lost in court and can't make their players live in poverty while exploiting them
oh my gosh that's awful....I know legacy acceptance is becoming illegal in California this year too like. go for the throat.
