where you can change your name and it changes your name in the subs but in the voice they just still say the default name

tbh, I feel like letting the protag have a name is fine, especially since many rpg series (e.g. tales, FF) have moved toward named protags

honestly I support SO4 even if I acknowledge it as the worst possible choice, entirely because... yeah no, your protag is named Edge Maverick why the FUCK would you change that

There was one (1) elegant solution to this. A game where you could change your given name but not your surname. Shephard.

... Still better than the time Namco changed from one noncustomizable name to a DIFFERENT noncustomizable name in English. But left the original name in the voice acting.
