Arcade A-Cho in Kyoto is closing next month. I never have been, obviously, but that place felt mythic; an institution that was one of the first bridges between the Japanese and international fighting game communities. It didn't feel like it could close, and it's hard not to mourn its departure.
I guess it's true that none of us are getting any younger.
Recently the team behind Virtua Fighter 6 had an interview about what was changing and what wasn't for that game since it will have been nearly 20 years and they confessed that some of the players will be impossible to get back due to age and time.
