If you beat the game on hard mode, you find out that the recurring tsundere ghost was actually the protag's girlfriend when she was alive and then died down in the tunnels. So the protag volunteered for tunnel duty (something people are normally drafted for) to be with her girl

frankly the game seems borderline unbeatable on normal, let alone hard

I'm on stage 9 and the screen is just entirely occupied by hazards I need to instantly react to, that overlap each other in unavoidable patterns

I got to this stage with minimal difficulty and now I'm dying on repair 2 out of 8 with 100% consistency

what the fuck is this

I have died 10x more often on this stage than the previous entire game combined
