it can take 5 or 6 days for steroids to help, unfortunately :/
It can also take 5 to 6 days for them to turn you into a homicidal rage monster so just be careful.
interestingly, I haven't found that to be an issue with steroid injections the way it is with oral steroids
Idk how much either of us were given but whatever my amount was it turned me into an actual monster. It was easier to cope with when I figured out what it was.
Actually my experience has been the opposite oral was fine, some restlessness. The injections? A few days later I was murderous.
And most friends who've been on oral were also okay moodwise but holy shit, the injection.
b/c I've had multiple injections in my knees this year, most recently 3 weeks ago, and it's not really been an issue
I guess the low longer term vs high one shot is different from person to person, but if you know ahead of time it's easier to cope.
Yeah, I don't know. I didn't believe it either because I've been on oral a few times and know plenty of people on them frequently but then a friend found all these case studies about the injections doing this so I think that's more common?
Anyway, there's no pain relieving affect, but it will bring down the inflammation in a few days and hopefully you will start feeling better!!!
and yes, it's just a hard core anti-inflammatory, so it takes a while to work
Yeah, my dad gets them periodically and his pattern is 1) temporarily pain feels worse 2) flushing and some 'roid rage for a few days (although not as bad as oral steroids with him) 3) pain feels much much better about 5-7 days after the shot
huh. I had them for my lower back a million years ago and pretty much always had immediate relief. I thought they were steroid shots, at least, but this was in japan... maybe they did something else entirely
my steroid shots also include lidocaine for immediate relief, though it often wears off before the steroids help
so that might have been in
this one did too though, boo
