The second day of Advent calls for the second illustration. Here it is: https://images.plurk.com/3HKuA0wd35N5o0socGCbDQ.jpg Can you recognize the fairy tale?

那麼你覺得呢? :-o
My first thought is Snow White & The Seven Dwarves. Google says The Willful Child (i dont know what that is) or Rapunzel. (thinking)

luna_y_gatos: Your first thought is wrong. Google is double wrong. It's a very famous fairy tale with probably the most famous witch on the planet being in.

fame, like "celebrity", is very variable in time & space (geography) & context/culture. For some, the witch in the modern western fairytale of The Wizard Of Oz would be most famous. In mid-European tradition it would have been one of the fairy tales already mentioned. But more easterly is Baba Yaga with the walking hut.

Th image itself doesn't tell much; a woman in a dress by a house... It could be a dozen stories. But with the most famous witch hint? I'll say Sleeping Beauty, and this would be the house in the wood where she is sent until she turns 16.

(My other best guesses would be Donkeyskin, the goose girl, the golden goose, or the goose girl at the well. Yeah, the goose/bird at the side is the most remarkable part of the picture.)

mimipal: care04: Yes, it's Hansel and Gretel!

StereoNacht: It's not a typical illustration, but the woman is a witch and her house is, well, unusual. And the illustrator was from Spain.
