Me: idk just checking so I know what to plan for, hey boyfriend, do you eat turkey?

Me; will you eat chicken if I make it?

Me; okay awesome

Me, sergio; (go into thanksgiving mode, everything set to about 3:30-4pm, including turkey, chicken, mashed potatoes, and pie that boyfriend can eat)

Kid, 1:30, comes downstairs: hey I’ll be back at five we are going out

Me: wtf where?

Kid: my mom’s.

Me: I have dinner planned at 3;30!

Kid: well my brother called at midnight so,....

Kid: anyway you didn’t tell us you wanted to eat then

Me: wow. Okay. I’m glad I staggered everything til then. Jesus Christ. You could have let me know between now and 11:30 am so I could have timed the turkey!

Kid; storms off to walk outside in the rain

Me: Sergio, I don’t want her walking the two miles in the cold and wet to her mom’s place, go give her a ride

Sergio: (comes back in) they said they didn’t want a ride

Me: cool.

Mom; (calling) hey I’m sick so I’m not coming

Me: even better!

Me; happy birthday to me I guess :/

And apparently we have spoiled their fun so now they’re not going?? Idk I’m so tired and Sergio is angry.

I just fucking wanted the five of us to sit down for thanksgiving . :/ fucking Christ

Not impressed with the turkey this year! It wasn't bad per se, it wasn't dry but the brine didn't get through past the first layer of skin. I liked the dry rub I did last year much better. The pie was great, the garlic mashed potatoes were GREAT.

And we did our usual peas and had some pecan pie from market basket too. I bagged up some food to take to my mom so she has lunch for the week
