Van just cut out - sudden engine stop (no restart) - while in a line of stationary traffic on the interstate/motorway. Had to get a Road Ranger breakdown truck to literally push my van onto the shoulder. Uber again tomorrow. 
does the van have a gas pump in the tank? One of mine was exhibiting same behavior and it turned out to be an 'almost' broken wire ti the pump.
It does, and it was replaced fairly recently. What caught me yesterday was that there was no attempt to restart. Lights worked, radio played, but turning the key made no difference. No starter motor. Nothing.
No cough. No splutter. Just "Stop" - like switching off a light. Twice while standing in traffic, once whilst moving.
Oh foo.
