the plot's also making me think of Avernum's dragons, mainly Athron. canonically her brood survives, I think even if they were killed and the killers didn't also off her, she wouldn't take revenge against humans for generations, just kill the ones responsible and then anyone else who tries to enter her lair

I like Athron. she might not be as friendly as Motrax (and probably couldn't keep cats like he did, with her hungry brood), but she has a healthier attitude than the other siblings. screw plotting revenge on the Empire, she's gonna make more dragons so the species survives
