a "stupid" meter which one reads oneself and then reports whenever one is able to do so is far more reliable overall and doesn't need replacing.

living in a house where mobile signals don't work but in the zone where they would be forcibly fitting mobile phone based systems. Whereas other people are living in a mandatory radio signal zone and can't receive/transmit enough of a signal for that to work.

not gain any benefit at all from having a computerised system trying to tell me the usage which I am quite capable of monitoring myself. It will not enable me to use less electricity or use electricity at a different time of day if I'm not already doing that.
