the biggest problem is that the voters are humans. There was also a lot of election interference from evil rich people - including foreign ones (which happens ever more with global comms & travel).

there may yet be some deaths from CoViD to cause re-runs of house or senate elections but nothing much is going to make the humans smarter or less evil.

I really hope those in the US stay safe. Not that much can really be done on an individual level, besides get out of places that are not safe. Not that there hasn't been a lot of "not safe" places for quite some time.
