First, my youngest cousin had a baby in the last week. Welcome to the world Isabel Stone. throws confetti apparently my cousin has a bad case of post partum depression. I don't fully understand how bad this can get. I mean obv, huge body chemistry shift not having to carry a baby but like, what do?
I mean recognizing it is a big step. The big mistake is going “oh that’s normal” or “it’ll pass” make sure someone is there for her and keeping an eye on her, and if it you see red flags make sure she gets treatment.
Like a big thing is make sure she knows if she needs treatment people will be around to help her and that there’s no shame in it. You’re someone who I trust to know the difference between actually supporting someone and blowing smoke up their ass so she’s lucky to have you.
